This must be the first time I've considered cultural evolution. I've heard the term before, but never gave thought into how it must work until now. This is a very interesting article.

I really enjoyed the discussion around memes. I've borne witness to the creation and subsequent fade of several memes, and I have to agree that they undergo change quite rapidly. Often times they'll mean something completely different a week later. What once was serious has turned into satire or something like that. In fact, inversion and change can often be a mark of pride, as creativity keeps content interesting to people.
